Ruby holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts (Communications) from the University of Technology Sydney. She was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales in September 2021.

Ruby has developed strong experience across a broad range of commercial and transactional matters, with a particular focus on drafting, negotiating and advising on complex contractual arrangements. She has assisted clients on a wide variety of transactions, bringing a high level of precision and commercial awareness to the structuring and documentation of agreements.

Prior to working at Mitry Emerson Lewis, Ruby worked in the in-house legal team of a large Australian fintech, where she gained valuable insight into the commercial drivers behind legal decision-making. This experience underpins her ability to deliver advice that is not only technically sound, but also aligned with her clients’ broader commercial objectives. Ruby’s experience includes negotiating and drafting shareholder agreements, company constitutions and share transfer agreements as well as business sale agreements, commercial leases and terms of trade.

In addition to her transactional practice, Ruby also has experience in complex litigation in the District and Supreme Courts of New South Wales and in the Federal Court of Australia. She has represented clients in proceedings involving shareholder disputes, misleading and deceptive conduct claims, breach of director duties claims, claims under the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) as well as debt recovery matters.

Ruby’s combined transactional and litigation experience enables her to approach transactions with a clear understanding of how issues may evolve in a contentious setting, allowing her to identify and mitigate risk at an early stage. Ruby is known for her attention to detail, strong drafting capability, and ability to deliver clear, commercially focused outcomes across both transactional and dispute-related matters.
